Congratulations!

You have made it through the first month in your new role.

As you continue to settle into your new role, you will get to explore the business, processes, and your own personal goals with the support of your Line Manager, Buddy and colleagues.

As you prepare for your check-in with your Line Manager, please note some suggestions below

Line Manager check-in:

Making the most of the time with your line manager

  • Share additional things you would need in order to perform optimally
  • Ask questions to ensure you are clear on expectations
  • Ask for feedback on your first 30 days
  • Agree on the frequency and format of future check-ins

To further support you in your role and new environment, please check out our Group Mentorship programme and Learning platform (SkillSoft) below. In addition, find out about our Sanlam Foundation and how you can get involved in giving back.

Your Learning Journey

At the Sanlam Group, we recognise that the most valuable learning happens on the job. We, therefore, aim to create an environment where you will receive the support you require, while also encouraging you to play an active role in your own learning.

In addition to the support that you will receive, the Sanlam Group offers you access to SkillSoft. This is a learning platform on which you can access materials regarding several topics that will assist you in your personal and professional learning.

The Sanlam Group aims to foster a mentoring culture. A mentoring culture is when an organisation continuously promotes collaboration, empowering individuals to develop themselves through informal or formal mentoring. Individuals are actively engaged, feel valued, and are open to participating in knowledge sharing.

The Open Mentorship Programme is available to all employees. This is a great opportunity to connect, network, learn from, and give back to others. With the Open Mentorship Programme, you have the option to become a mentee and learn from others or become a mentor and share your knowledge and experience with others.
